ILM

Level 3 Introductory Certificate in First Line Management

This is a short flexible programme for all team workers, especially those with team leading or co-ordinating responsibilities.

Over a minimum of 34 hours participants cover:

  • An introduction to the wide range of responsibilities of the first line manager
  • A choice of 7 further segments to meet the specific needs of the participant

Features

  • The programme combines key elements of the full Certificate in a tightly focused package which can produce a step change in performance quickly and economically.
  • People with little or no formal training can benefit particularly as it provides an ideal starting point to future development.
  • It represents excellent preparation for the ILM Level 3 Certificate in First Line Management and can be a way back into formal learning. 

Timescale

One of the advantages of using TCLuk Training is that we make the timescale flexible to allow everyone to build learning into their working and personal arrangements.

The ILM Level 3 Introductory Certificate in First Line Management can be completed in as little as one week up to one year.

Cost

The cost for the introductory level 3 is £400 per student for a minimum group of six, offered in-house anywhere in the East Midlands. The cost for fewer students, off-site training or modular courses is negotiable. We have trainers based outside the East Midlands; contact us for further information.

Where do the qualifications lead?

The main purpose of the course is to improve performance, which may be an end in itself, but it can also be a stepping stone to further personal development and qualifications.

The ILM Level 3 Introductory Certificate in First Line Management can provide credit towards the full ILM Level 3 Certificate in First Line Management, and both may be designed to provide specific knowledge and skills for people working towards the Level 3 S/NVQ in First Line Management.

Course Overview


Duration

Minimum 34 guided learning hours excluding assessment, to be completed within one year.
Structure & Content
  • Short induction lasting 2 hours
  • Three mandatory segments (minimum) of 3 hours each as follows:
  • Problem Solving Skills
  • Planning Change
  • Using Information for Decisions
  • a further seven segments (minimum) selected from the full range available in the ILM Level 3 Certificate in First Line Management (no more than three from any module overall)
  • Tutorial support for assessment - 2 hours
Assessment
  • Segment Reviews to cover four of the seven optional segments
  • One Work-based Assignment of no less than 1000 words, set by ILM
Entry Requirements No formal entry requirements, but participants should be practicing or potential first line managers with 2 years full-time (or 3 years part-time) work experience, and a background which will enable them to benefit from the programme.
ILM Membership ILM Membership is included in the course fees for successful candidates.
